You have no idea just how much I've missed blogging. Though blogging may seem like only uploading photos, typing some captions and words, discussing topics that are on my mind or updating about what's going on, there's this therapeutic thing about writing to an audience.

A mass audience that you know could reach the other side of the world. A mass audience that you don't know and are strange to you.

And when they return to read your blog time and again, or better still, leave nice comments, you know you've done well :) Fulfilling little rewards that make this blogger keep blogging :)

*Note: She TRIES to blog more often, every now and then ;)

A photo taken by Kel Li with my iPhone 4S. Absolutely love the 8MP camera. Only apps I immediately downloaded when I first got my phone were photography apps. Not even Whatsapp! How surprising? :P

This photo was edited using Pixlromatic's vignette effect + some Chinese app called Mei-tu-xiu-xiu + Instagram's X Pro II. Nice? :)

The December 2011 issue of Seventeen Magazine is out! :)

Some BTS photos.

Look of the shoot:
Soft curls + minimal eye shadow & blusher + red, hot lips.

Sometimes in life, we TRY to be cool =.=

Constipated!

See-through Christmas leggings.
Love just how Blair Waldorf-y this look is! :)

Previews on the comp.

The practical yours truly used to think that accessories are completely unnecessary. But little did I know adding accessories to your outfit could change your entire look!

 Love the necklace!

Jeen, the woman responsible for the awesome shoot!

The final product!

It's out in the stores! Go geddit! :)

A make-up-free afternoon.

My biggest fan/blogder :)

Before I say anything further, I just wanna say a big HELLO and THANK YOU SHO SHO SHO SHO MUCH to all who have been faithfully coming back to read my blog over and over, time and again despite the lack of updates.

Each time I view my stats I become really amazed at the gradual increase in readership and I really wonder who you wonderful people are. Leave me a comment or two so that I know it is YOU who have been reading! :)

And secondly (getting into my Grammy's speech mode *ahem), remember all those times that I've asked you guys to vote for me in adidas NEO's FB app, *like* my photos & videos and comment on them?

Guess what, yours truly have made it to the Top 2 in this search for the next adidas NEO ambassador! :) And it's really thanks to all of you who have been tirelessly supporting me all these while. You guys are beyond amazing! :')

The adidas NEO Facebook app :)

This is how the app looks like now :)
Check out the countdown clock! You can also still check out all of our app profiles to view our past adidas NEO photos and videos!

But from Dec 16- Dec 18, the app will showcase the final video that both Jane & I produced. Here's when we both need you guys to vote! Voting stand for 20% outta the total score, which is a lot!

Here's the final task for the Top 2 NEO Bloggers:

Each of us were assigned to a different destination to cover the adidas NEO outlet as well as our journey in the most original and creative way.

Yours truly's destination was to check out and cover the adidas NEO outlet in 1 Borneo, Kota Kinabalu. Engaged a really talented and dedicated videographer/friend/the fiancé's part-time bf, came up with a creative master plan, packed our bags, grabbed the fiancé along and flew to KK! :)

adidas NEO KL outlet in Alpha Angle, Wangsa Maju :)

My favourite NEO jacket.
Flight delayed so, it's camho time ;)

I LOVEEE iPhone 4S........................... :))))

The beautiful KK islands :)

Aside from rushing our shoot like crazy, covering all the necessary scenes and shots and places, we managed to have fun and pamper ourselves with KK food and also the famous YOYO BUBBLE TEA! :)

Also managed to squeeze in some camho sessions in between from one location to another ;)
*peace* ^^V

Checkout this pair of NEO kicks!

Y THEY NO HAVE GIRL'S SIZES FOR THIS?
*drools swoons drools again*

Yeah and some more camho pics.

Stay tuned to my blog and more importantly, the adidas NEO Facebook app HERE!

The video will be UP on DEC 16-18 on the app itself. Watch and remember to *like* & comment too! :)

20% of the total score will be determined by YOU!

You play a HUGE role in deciding who will win and be the next adidas NEO ambassador in Malaysia, and at the same time bring home RM10K.

The final result will be announced on the NEO app itself on the DEC 19.

*fingers crossed*

Whatever happens, I'm glad to have had all your amazing support. You guys are ze best! :)

adidasNEO #6: The Announcement

Sorry photo a bit blur. Taken by my 4S front camera. Turns out better than I expected! :)

I'm back after a crazy week!

First off, here are some of the behind the scenes photos taken during my final adidas NEO shoot in Kota Kinabalu.

Shot quite many scenes on the Tanjung Aru beach with my Lil' NEO, but unfortunately, the video couldn't contain too many scenes as we had a limit of maximum 3 mins duration. Nonetheless, we got some nice (random) shots!

This was supposed to be a nice and yao yeng shot. The fella behind a bit distracting but it's ok :) *peace*

This was also supposed to be a yao yeng and "why?? wanna takao??!" shot, but...

Hehehehe that face is more epic than Epic Meal Time! Laughing nonstop! Hahaha OMG I don't think I'll ever get bored marrying this guy :P
A shot with my unsung heroes.
(left) director/videographer/editor Gordon Ling
(right) bag holder/driver/creative director/my guardian/my fiancé Ng Boon Hock :D

Seriously guys, if you need a wedding videographer/events videographer/photographer/editor, just contact Gordon at gordonling@live.com.my. Seriously, he provides excellent, top-notch services. He brought the Lil NEO and all the ideas into life!

Oh, read his side of the story in his blog HERE!

But the bag holder/driver/creative director/guardian is not available for services because he's mine :D hehe

Snippets of my NEO vid!

Check out the 3 stripes on my Lil' NEO!
My fiancé brilliant idea! Who said engineers are not creative people? They're freaking problem solvers man! *proud* :D
Heheh do u see what I see?
Check out who's at the back playing Fruit Ninja?

My new job as an adidas NEO mannequin ;)

When my world lighted up.
Check our the smile on my Lil' NEO! :D

The Tyra Banks hair-flying scene ;)

Hahah behind the scenes, Boon was using shoe boxes to fan me. Seriously, kudos to my team for the great video put together. *group hugsss*

And of course, all the people who gave me their excellent ideas and inputs such as Gladys the sis, Abel Teh the bro, David Oh the stage daddy and many others! Brilliant peeps with out-of-this-world ideas! I owe it to you guys :)

So, fast-forward a little.

The results were told to be out on Monday (Dec 19), but due to the fact that the adidas management was still in the midst of discussing and making a decision, we were told that it'd be announced on either Tuesday or Wednesday.

So, while I was all sickly and drowsy on my bed yesterday (Tuesday), got a phone call from Gladys the sis who woke me up from my sleep (which is something that pisses me off), and she broke the news to me.

Gladys: Hello? Jie??
Me: Huh....harrooo? *just woke up manly voice*
Gladys: Err....ru still sleeping?? *gan jeong voice*
Me: Yeahhh...I'm sick! Why you call??! (about to throw a gangsta fight!)
Gladys: Erm, okay. *giggles* I'm sure you don't know this yet but, jie, you won.
Me: Huh?
Gladys: You won. You won adidas NEO!

*awkward silence for 5 seconds*

Me: Huh?? When? They announced already? Where? How you know?? Really ah?? Don't bluff me....
Gladys: Really! I also didn't know! Samantha told me...she saw from the app & adidas Msia page. OMG!!!!!
Me: omgggggg........ *weak sick voice but actually containing my excitement*
Gladys: OMGGG....I'm so proud of you, jie!!!
Me: *stunned*

The adidas Malaysia Facebook Page.
To have my photo as their Profile Pic, I am extremely honored! :')

So that's the story of how I found out I won.
Not too glamorous a way to find out and celebrate due to the irritating fever, but now that I'm feeling much better, I can reply all the tweets and FB comments (not all yet though forgive me!!) and blog! :)

adidas Msia album :)

OMG STILL CAN'T BELIEVE I WON! Seriously... :')

For the fact that I'm only an amateur blogger who only blogs whenever she likes, and blogs about random stuff that only random readers like you like to read, this is pretty awesome from my expectation :')

The NEO app front page :)

No doubt, I put my heart and soul into this competition more than any other competitions I've been in before but hey, so did the rest of the bloggers who took part!

It's been a real tight competition, and I gotta say that it's been a really enriching experience :)

If not for NEO, I wouldn't have:

*Read about my fan girl starstruck post HERE

Visited KK again after 5 years! All expense paid!
Worked with an amazing videographer/editor Gordon Ling & his gf Jaslynn
Realized just how creative and amazing my fiancé is :)
Gotten Angelica Wong to cameo in my video :P Thanks sis!!
Felt all the love and support from the fiancé (he's the best!), friends, family members (OMG my family has been amazingly supportive!), CHCKL (seriously u guys are super supportive!), blogders, Twitter followers, FB page followers who went all out to fight for me
Met Jane Lau in person (finally! though we used to be in the same Uni!). Btw, she's really nice & pretty, guys!
Worked with all the amazing peeps from adidas & Streething. Amazing peeps who made this journey a great one for me:)

Most of all, I've got God to thank for all his faithfulness and favor upon my life. The Big Guy up there never fails to deliver :)

Debut of my brand new hair color for a brand new year! :)

Been changing hair color so much the entire year like how Paris Hilton changes bf. The look of those freshly grown black roots never fail to annoy the hell outta me, and the thought of retouching the roots is just really sien.

So decided that since I've tried light brown, dark brown, red, dark red, red brown and the recent ash-y brown which turned out to still have red shades on the ends which became the last straw for me, it's time to move on to my virgin hair days and switch back to black! ;)

Was supposed to be dark, dark brown, but it turned out brownish-black. Love it nonetheless! Now my hair looks healthy again :) and the thought of not having to retouch my roots every 2 months is just...ahhhhh :D

First camho photo of 2012 ;)
 Hello 2012!!! :)

Happy new year to all my faithful readers! Hope this year has started out on the right note for ya, and will continue to be pawsome!

So sorry for the absence. Have got so much to blog about but well, the holiday mood has kicked in real bad which resulted in (initially) no time to sit down and do up a proper post, and (now) getting lazy to do anything cos it's still holiday til sem starts in March but anyways!

Managed to resist the temptation to nap due to this scorching-beginning-of-the-year heat, and pen down a post! :)

As per annual custom, by now I SHOULD HAVE, BY RIGHT, SUPPOSEDLY already penned down my Chronicles of 2011 post. But really, thinking about the time needed to collect and gather all details & photos of what has happened in the past year is enough to make me tired mentally.

In the meantime, here's my reflection post for 2010 ;)

A lot has happened in 2011. More good than bad. Like, 99% good stuff. And I cant wait to recap em for my own keepsake and also to share it with you guys. I shall quickly get over my laziness and start to at least compile the materials needed for that post :)

The reason I haven't been blogging is cos I don't wanna just post up some random stuff half-heartedly and waste your time reading nonsense. I always appreciate bloggers who put time & effort into penning up a good post, and I too, wanna do the same for my readers. Especially since you guys have been tirelessly coming back for updates even on days when there is none. *touched* :')

*

So what's been up in these 4 days of 2012 for ya? :)

For yours truly, it's been a lot of family + fiancé + friend time. Last year was a whirlwind of working and studying and working even more, that I hardly was able to really sit down and play with my growing baby sisters. They grow up too fast! Thus, I told myself to spend extra time with these little precious things as much as possible. Especially since I'd be moving out in November :') That's another story and post altogether.

The baby sis, Evangeline proudly told me she's no longer 3, but 4 this year. Oh how it hit me how much she's grown. So mature & smart :)

Here's the mommy's lil shopping helper!

With mommy's little checklist

Da jie, look! I'm stwong!
(That's how she says it!)

(after 5 secs)
Arghhh so heavy. My bones!

Me: o.O

Let me try this one!

:D

Ok it's heavy...
It's amazing how much fun and laughter can come outta a conversation with a 4 year old. She says the darnest things!

Camho days.
Today she said: "Da jie, let's lie on the bed and take pictures together again!
Me: Sureeeeee ;)
When she realized that she actually doesn't know what my name is due to the fact that she
only called me 'Da jie' this whole time, she felt really bad and actually said sorry to me that she didn't know my name :')

Our mei-mei :)
Now, she tries to call us by our names :)
Whenever anyone calls me 'Care-en', she would correct them by saying,

"Nooooo. It's 'Ker-reen'!"
Exactly how I pronounced my name to her the first time she asked. Awww :)

Wanting to make sure that she does know everybody's names, she asked the fiancé:

"Boon Hock, what is your name?"

Bwahahahaahahaha we had a great time laughing at her while she stared at us cluelessly still waiting for the answer. Moments :)

*

My other baby has also grown so much. The ever so quirky and random Charity Tan :)

Making a face mask outta a paper towel!
2 year old Charity
My chubby baby has now grown into this pretty young lady, who stepped into the first day of her Primary School today!

Standard 1 student :')
I remember telling her when she was 1 not to grow up so fast.
Look how much she disobeyed me! :P

She's a really good girl...well-mannered since young and never failed to follow instructions and do the right things. She still hugs me each time I return home :) She will be a great student.

The sampat genes are evident....
When the little ones were little.
And of course my Melody who has grown into a matured and extremely charming 9 year old :)
9 year old. Oh my I cant believe it!

4 year old Melody :)
Her looks hasn't changed much, eh?

Mel's first day of school 2 years back.
Woahhh....

Babies turned princesses.

With the coussie, and their new toy!
Wish I had that to play with when I was little. I'd have dieeeeeed of happiness if I did!
Thanks Regina, Charissa & Andrea for the lovely gift. They're loved and pampared by all of you :)

Their kor kor :)
The babies literally grew up playing with the fiancé.
Boon carried Charity in his arms in the hospital when she was only 2 days old. Now, she's 7.
My, oh my.

Happy family ^^V
That is why this year, I vowed to take more pics of and with the sisters. I always knew how important pictures were, but have been busy AND lazy for the past year.

This year will be different :)
I want them to be able to grow up and read back at how much their Da Jie loved them and still loves them hehehe.

Ending the post by introducing Evangeline the songbird...

...AND, dancing queen O.O

Good day, guys!
And BRB ;)

Happy New Year 2012! :)
This photo was taken back in 2010. My, times fliessss!

It's the time of the year when everyone hurries to the hair salon to welcome the near year with new hairstyles, pack the malls in hopes to grab great bargains in this season of sales, and search the outlets inside and out for the perfect, red outfit in The Year of the Dragon.

Every year, my gramma would invite the lion dance team to perform at my hometown. It never fails to liven the Chinese New Year mood! Apart from the dance, it is also the food, cookies (!!!), mandarin oranges and angpows that make Chinese New Year extra beautiful ;)

Of course, for me, the main reason of going back to my parent's hometown to celebrate the Chinese New Year is to reunite with my cousins and relatives from all over the world and country.

Now that each of us have our own lives to live, careers to build, and goals to achieve, it becomes inevitable to move away from home. That is why whenever possible, we would try our best to go home and be with each other.

Speaking of 'going home', Petronas never fails to come up with heart-warming and sometimes, heart-wrenching TV commercials that remind and compel us to 'go home'. Their TVCs never fails to make me sob away :'(

This, my dears, is 2012 CNY TVC by Petronas. Watch!

This TVC was shot in Malaysia, England, Belgium, China and India, and depicts 6 different and intertwining stories of individuals all around the world who no matter how far they go in life, would always go back to their roots and traditions of uniting during CNY.

If you haven't seen the rest of Petronas' TVCs before, you gotta! Each year's TVC is brilliantly thought out and put together. And I absolutely love just how relatable the stories and scenes are to us Malaysians. Nothing fancy, just captured in the Malaysian setting.

Here are the other TVCs from previous years.

This year, to add to the Chinese New Year mood, Petronas has organized a CNY Photography Competition themed, 'Reimagining Energy', in collaboration with Leica Camera AG.

It is open to all members of the public. It's simple, just capture and submit your CNY moment that best depicts the spirit of 'Reimagining Energy' to Petronas' Facebook page HERE!

Submit under these categories and stand to win cash prizes as stated in the site. Simple! ;)
I submitted a photo myself too! :P

Contest ends on 12 Feb 2012, so better hurry up and submit!
Winners of the various categories will then have their masterpieces displayed and exhibited at Galeri Petronas! ;)

Have a great Chinese New Year, loves!
And remember, if possible, go home and be with your loved ones.

Even if it is inconvenient, it is worthwhile.

*ROAR*

Sh*t Malaysian Bloggers Say: Just My Two Cents

$
0
0
Watch, and tell me what you think.

I'm usually not a critic...be it movie/youtube videos/viral videos/music videos/etc. It's simply because there are already enough people trying to get a piece of their mind out there, and they don't need another opinion. Plus, I'm usually too busy living life to bother.

Although I'm mostly outdated, I'm not ignorant to not know that Sh*t Girls Say, Sh*t Asians Girls Say, and many other versions are one of the most popular things on Youtube right now. And I gotta say that some of them are hilarious!

Recently, a friend of mine posted the video above on his Facebook page, the title caught my attention.

As a blogger myself, I was, of course, interested to watch. Or rather, know what the people who made the video thought they knew what Malaysian bloggers say/are actually like.

The following is from a viewer's perspective.

I don't know the casts/people behind the video. And I have nothing against them.

In fact, I watched this video purely to well, find out what it was all about...out of curiosity. Never heard any good/bad comments prior to watching. So I can safely say that I was a neutral viewer.

To the people behind the video, since you put your video boldly online for the world to see, you should be prepared for good/bad comments from the viewers. This is just how the Internet works these days. So, no offence.

I watched the video, and I couldn't wait to finish it.
It was a pain to watch. And hear.

First of all, I personally do not think that the video was made by bloggers themselves. Because if it was, then it only shows what pathetically kiasu, low class and cheap skate bloggers they are, since they are portraying themselves that way.

Now, if they were NOT bloggers themselves, what made them so sure about how Malaysian bloggers really are when they attend an event?

Well, maybe they are bitter about their past encounters with such bloggers. To be fair, yes maybe some bloggers are all diva-ish and annoying. Or maybe they had some bad experiences dealing with difficult and demanding bloggers, so maybe that was an outlet to express their frustrations.

There are some truth in the video too, so let's skip the part about the contents.

But I think creating a Twitter accounttweeting people to view and asking people to share that particular video to the rest of the world. That just seems to be trying a little too hard.

Documentary on Malaysia? You call that a documentary? Really???

If you're planning on making your video big or go viral internationally, first of all, it has got to be of some standard.

Now, if you're thinking that I'm responding negatively because I feel offended or guilty as I'm just like the bloggers depicted in the video, you couldn't have been more mistaken.

I'm a blogger, a lazy one. I hardly attend events simply because I don't fancy superficial social gatherings, though out of those events, some real friends could be made. And I don't go after passes to the most happening events, parties and concerts around, simply I don't wanna have the obligation to blog about them thereafter. I'd rather spend my time blogging about things that I actually WANT to blog about.

So maybe, this video doesn't really apply to me. There are many lousy videos on Youtube that made it big in Malaysia that I really think are overrated. But why out of all the videos that I dislike on Youtube, I chose to take my time to blog about this particular video?

It's because though I'm not a blogger who attends events all the time, I still am a blogger, a Malaysian blogger.

And to have a lousy video made with such low standard, depicting Malaysian bloggers in such an annoying way, I felt like giving my two cents. Because it affects how people view Malaysian bloggers, and that includes myself.

If you wanna create a video to vent your frustrations or express your hatred towards Malaysian bloggers, cannnn. But you're also trying to make it go viral and international. Trying to make it big on Youtube, on our expense?

Many parodies are offensive and biased. But if it's actually funny, people won't mind...because well, they're parodies. If it is hilarious or witty, it will go viral by itself.

Though I'm a girl, I liked Sh*t Girls Say; Sh*t Asian Girls Say...simply because they were funny!

But honestly, this is nothing but annoyance. I don't know and I don't care if I'm the only one who feels this way, but yeah that video was annoying to the core.

1) Poor editing
No one actually cares about the editing if the video is good. But this is obviously a failure.

2) What's up with that Manglish?
I don't think many bloggers speak that way but maybe they were referring to some Ah Beng and Ah Lian bloggers that they know so, nevermind. Or maybe they're just simply trying to be funny.

3) Squeaky high pitch voice
Now, that was irritating! I hated the video the moment the girl spoke. Which was from the first second of the video onwards. I'm sorry, but my ears hurt.

And since when do Malaysian bloggers care about public transportation? Aww c'mon!

So, what's the point of my post?

In a nutshell, I just wanna say that this video is annoying.
And that people who are trying hard to go viral on Youtube should just stop trying too hard. It's embarrassing. We have enough jokes from our homeland already.

*peace*
:)

Charles and Keith Warehouse Sale

$
0
0
All my life (which is actually not that long, but yeah, all my life), I'd only been to one warehouse sale...that was the Nose warehouse sales like 4-5 years ago.

I went on the very last day, and I only managed to grab a decent RM10 pair of 2-inch heels (last time trending) because UK Size 5 is a really popular size amongst Malaysian females, which I did not wear more than 2 times. In fact, it's already thrown away and I forgot how it looked like.

Since then, I'd been ignoring all the lampost banners on warehouse sales, be it sports warehouse sales, or even luxury brands such as Prada, Miu Miu, Gucci, etc. Because I believe that there's a reason why these items were selected to be sold at the warehouse. It's either they're old model/stock, they're ugly, they're faulty, or they're just trying to get rid of the shoes from their warehouses for new ones to fill the shelves.

But this time around, sooooooo many ppl on my Facebook had been posting about this Charles and Keith warehouse sale even weeks and days before the event. And just last night, so many of my girlfriends on FB expressed their excitement and anticipation for today's warehouse sale. But I also just ignored.

Was driving around town minding my own business and when I was on the way home, it suddenly dawned upon me WHY it was so jammed up on the way home at Sunway. Like, bumper-to-bumper crawl...at 3.30pm.

THEN, God spoke to me (no actually He didn't) and reminded me that it might be due to the Charles and Keith warehouse sales just right opposite my church! RIGHT OPPOSITE. So why not right? I also needed to collect some stuff from church (actually can collect some other day but my heart itchy so I braved the jam just to kepochi hehe).

Actually the jam was due to after-school pick-ups at Sri Sedaya but anyway, I happily drove into church and easily found myself a parking spot #likeaboss while other females had to round 50 times to find a decent space to park :))

To my surprise (sorry I'm not a seasoned warehouse shopper. This is only my pathetic second time), the warehouse sale was held at.........................

*drumrolls*

Wait for it, wait for it........

The BASEMENT PARKING LOT!

I was already thinking of U-turning and go home to beat the jam, but seeing so many eager female counterparts brisking into the place, I was tempted to find out just what is so great about this warehouse sale.

First things first, get your bags bagged.

This is obviously to prevent stealing...because there are too many people and too few guards around. They said there were CCTV surveillance but do you think they will call u up to catch you for stealing a RM50 pair of heels?

Ok maybe they will. But anyway let's move on.

So my advice to you is:

If you're planning on visiting the warehouse sale the following three days, do think twice before bringing your LVs, Channels and Pradas, because it won't be a sight to behold, seeing your baby being suffocated in a red plastic bag.

If possible, don't bring any bag. Don't bring any purses too. Just bring your boyfriend.
Just kidding :)

The stuff were divided into price ranges.

This makes it all easier to shop. But the problem is that to even get near enough to SEE the shoes, is already quite a challenge.

People turn into monsters at sales like these, and our female friends are no longer careful about not banging their boobs onto you/yours (hehe), and their boobs are now used as a weapon of attack. Because a natural reaction when you know that you're about to bang into someone (and their boobs), would be that you tend to avoid it by holding yourself back and freeze/just not move (right?). So when you get about 20 females doing that to you all the same time, you get scared and you won't dare to fight with them JUST so you can take a look at the shoes.

I managed to steal glimpses at the shoes a little here and there. They're okay, but they're old stocks la. They sell mostly 3-4 inch heels. And quite a few pretty pairs of ankle boots which I already sorta have.

Plus, I'm a killer-heels person, meaning, I only wear heels above 4 inches. Because I'm short. And because I simply don't see the point of wearing 2-3 inch heels. It doesn't flatter your figure, and it doesn't really add to your height much. Well, that's my fashion theory/principle :) *intellectual*

Because the girls had gone wild (literally), they had to put fences around the shoes as they're still setting up. You and I know what will happen if the fence were not there. The heels will turn into flats.

For me to take this shot was a challenge in itself. The girls were holding on and sticking to the fences like prisoners desperate to escape. And while waiting for the sales assistants to setup, they were already discussing and confirming on which pair of heels to get. All I can say is, WOAH.

Some girls took half day of just to get to this sale. Some took the entire day off.

Some came prepared with comfortable, loose fitting and thin clothes, while some came in woolen long sleeves (wahahahaaha!). Some came with flats and flip flops for easy removal and trying on of shoes, while some came in 5-inch strappy heels and boots (major epic fail!).

And those guys who accompanied their gfs/wives/sisters/mothers were sweating like cows, major sweating like those that flow down from your forehead, dripping down to your chin (I'm not kidding/dramatizing on this one) because there were only a couple of standing fan in a basement carpark. I saw major makeup melting on girls, and it was just not a pretty sight.

And of course, the worst and most cruel thing any human being can do at situations like these, is to FART! I'm serious! Please be considerate! Air is already scarce...don't make it any more miserable for us.

I'm not anti-warehouse sales. But I'm just narrating the scenes from this afternoon, from my personal experience. Do check out the sale if you can withstand the long queues and the stuffiness, you might get yourself some good buys :)

I walked out of the sale empty handed. Reason simply being, nothing attracted me, and I have no shoe-cravings at the moment :) of course, the environment did contribute to me wanting to leave as fast as I could.

So, shop wisely, and always remember that you may not even like or wear what you buy (personal experience!). Don't be swept away by the 50% sign. Be a smart shopper ;)

Have a great Thursday night, and a fruitful shopping at the sale ;)

BTS & FAQ: #OnlyInMalaysia

$
0
0

It's been more than a month since I touched this space.
Wow! It's amazing just how times flies. And how lazy I've been.

Am almost halfway through my mid-sem break, which explains why I have the time to finally sit, (and mask), and type away :)

A lot has happened in my hiatus. So many exciting stuff to update! My blog and Facebook are mostly outdated as I could hardly even find the time these days to sit down and update all the statuses, photos, etc. The number of photos that I owe people their tags are crazy! Which would be ridiculous for me to start posting them up right now so yeah guess they'll just stay in my poor, overloaded phone.

My Twitter is the most updated social media platform of all so follow me to get the latest and most updated updates. Okay the last line sounded stupid.

Anyway, so instead of updating where I left off (which I cannot recall anymore), let's get the ball rolling reverse chronologically ;)

*

So, the most recent exciting stuff would be my involvement in the latest short by JinnyboyTV.

Being a crazy chick who loves nonsensical stuff, humor, creativity and randomness, I've always been a huge fan of short films, video productions by YouTubers such as WongFu, Nigahiga, KevJumba, and to know that Malaysia has its very own YouTube masterminds, I got hooked to their videos one after another.

This short, 'Only in Malaysia' is their 5th production on YouTube. Watch the rest of their brilliant productions HERE!

Some behind the scenes photos.

As per usual protocol (aiseh...), we shall start with my shameless camho photo ;)

And another one.

This is what happens when girls doll up. If we don't take pictures we'd feel like our time spent on preparation is sorta wasted. These are memories to be captured, you see.

Okay you don't have to tell me I'm vain because I know I am. *peace*

With the hilarious Joseph Germani. Acting together with him takes a lot of self-control. You either burst out laughing or feel like slapping him for his famous ridiculously 'yong sui' Ah Wing face! In Mandarin, we call it "qian da". But he's a really nice guy :)

Natalie Kniese from Hitz.fm has got to be one of my favorite radio deejays! Her sexy voice is so unique you'd immediately know it's her when you hear it.

With 1/2 of JinnyboyTV, Reuben Kang! How we got to know each other was pretty random. Producer/natural actor, and a really nice guy! You'd love his role in 'Only in Malaysia' ;)

With the other 1/2 of JinnyboyTV, Jin Lim! After being stopped every other step of the way by young fan girls to take photos, I decided I should also be as daring as the younger girls and get my very own fan girl moment with Jin.

The young fan girls made me feel old and boring. and shy. I don't recall myself ever being shy but as compared to them, dayummmnnn I'm an introvert!

Meet Maxson and Guan! You'd recognize them in the past JinnyboyTV videos. They're hilarious! What a fun bunch! Makes me feel I'm not so insane afterall ;)

I grew up watching Jason Lo on Latte at 8. Being on the same short as him felt kinda surreal.
And he's such a natural and funny person! We had trouble holding back our laughs.

It's a wrap!

*

Now, before you watch the video (which is very unlikely that any of you have not watched it yet!), let me answer some Frequently Asked Questions. Actually, just one FAQ.

Q: "How did you land yourself on this short by JinnyboyTV?"

Those who know me know that although I am friendly, sociable, outgoing and shameless *ahem*, I'm not usually seen in the party scenes (wow it rhymes!). Reason being I would just rather spend my time doing stuff I love, and spending time with people who matter. I wanna party with people I chose to party with. But I don't fancy dolling up just to "appear" in events. In short, I just don't like how fake the party scene is.

So, for me to be involved in this short is basically not by networking my way there, but simply this.

For those of you who remember, last November I woke up one fine day and decided that I should do something crazy, grabbed my sis and our compact cam, and recorded myself top-raving my way around KL.

To the shock of my life, Ryan Higa himself *liked* the video, shared it on his FB and Google +, and followed me on Twitter, which caused this video to go viral up to this day.

I literally almost died. My world stopped. Dramatic but it's true story bro. I'mma tell my grandkids. More details on my encounter with Ryan Higa on this post, and how I became the adidas NEO ambassador.

Anyway, the point is, it was from there that Jin and Reuben got to know about my existence, and they decided to involve me in their next video, which was released just yesterday. End of story. Just that simple :)

This is a short created by Malaysians, for Malaysians.
If you're a true blue Malaysian, you'd be able to relate!

A collaboration with JinnyboyTV, the Hitz.fm DJs and a special star! Watch to find out! ;)

I've always loved to act, especially holding the role of an antagonist :P And being a part of something this huge still feels real surreal to me. Thanks Reubz and Jin for seeing the potential in me heheh.

If you love the video, share it ;)
Tweet #onlyinmalaysia

Let's keep it trending on Twitter!
:)

More updates coming up I pinky pwomise! <3

My New Baby: Casio Exilim ZR20

$

With the rise of smartphones that boast of their new and improved camera qualities each time, I admit that I'm one of the many who have come to think that I can make do with just my camera phone.

Especially with so many photo editing apps that make photos look unbelievably professional and creative (Think Instagram hehe), we have come to loathe the trouble of taking pictures with our compact cameras, transferring the files into our computers, edit them with photoshop and various other editing softwares, and finally, upload them onto Facebook, Twitter and many others.

By the time we do so, we would have been able to snap and upload tons of photos with our smartphones, and upload them instantly!

This is what I've been led to believe, which was why I didn't even bother getting myself a new camera after my old one went missing. Until recently when I looked back at some of my old photos (camho or not), which made me realize the vast difference in picture quality. Truly, smartphone cameras can never outbeat the quality of cameras. Real camera, cameras. If you know what I mean. Ok let's move on.

This was snapped by my smartphone front camera at night, and edited using 'mei tu xiu xiu' app, and then Instagram. It was the best I could do to salvage the photo, and it is still this grainy and blur.

But now, I have a brand new baby to play with, and it's none other than the pretty and gorgeous
Casio Exilim ZR20! :))

Tadda!!!
This is a family photo of my white baby, with her bros and sis :P

It comes in white, black, silver and metallic purple. And as expected, yours truly went with white.

My new pretty baby is not only pretty when I camho in front of the camera with it (Come on, be real. It matters!), but it has a host of awesome features that until now, a week after getting it, I still haven't finished exploring yet!

Here are some of the specs of my new baby.

Casio Exilim EX-ZR20 is a 16.1 MP camera with high-sensitivity CMOS which supports 8x optical zoom with 16x multi-frame SR zoom (Which still produces good and clear quality photos). It has a 3-inch 460,000-dot LCD screen, 25mm Wide Angle Lens, ISO 12800 for High Speed Night Shot, 360-degree Slide Paranoma, Full HD Movie Recording, 2cm Super Macro Mode and wide shot of 15mm/19mm.

It carries a dual-core Exilim Engine 5.0 which enables high performance and high speed image data processing. With that, it comes with all these other amazing features.

One of the most impressive features would be the 0.26 second shooting interval. There's no need to wait for the camera to process before you can take the next photo. You can immediately snap, continuously. It also has a superquick 0.13 second high speed autofocus, and high speed CS of 40fps (frames per sec).

Aside from the Auto and Premium Auto Mode, Casio Exilim ZR20 also comes with 32 Best Shot Modes (My favorite!), which is a collection of different capture modes including HDR, High Speed Night Shot, High Speed Night Scene, and many others. As well as the artistic Art Shot Modes such as the HDR Art,  Toy Camera, Monochrome, Miniature, Soft Focus and many more.

This was shot in Soft Focus mode, with NO EDITING at all. It is perfect for us girls to camho with as it literally makes your skin look fairer, smoother, and gives you a glowing, angelic feel ;) Say bye bye to photoshop!

See the difference? ;)

Aside from that, the 8x optical zoom, and 16x multi-frame SR zoom is amazing.
Let me show you just how far it can capture, and get this, capture super clear!

Stalking made easy, yo ;)
This can really fight with binoculars already!

I've been carrying my new baby around in my purse, and decided to act professional photographer for a day, and see if I can capture nice photos :P

I explored with the HDR ART mode, and ladies and gentlemen, you are about to witness my very own masterpieces. Enjoy ;)

It comes in THREE different HDR Art Levels
Depending on how art-y and dramatic you want your photos to be.

The HDR Art mode is really interesting. It brings out the colors in your photos, and adds depth to them too!

Straight from the camera, yo.
NO EDITING involved.

Even parking lots can be beautiful ;)

See how it adds depth to your photo? Love it!

With the popped up colors and extra depth, the grass grew!

Suddenly my university compound looks so beautiful. Hahah!

Be an artist in your own right. Feel so proud of...the click of my finger :P

Chupa Chups never looked so yummeh.

So much more to explore! Will be back with more photos in the next post :)

In the meantime, stay tuned, and head on over to Casio Exilim Malaysia's Facebook Page, and follow their latest camera updates by *liking* their page! There are many interesting stuff coming up in that page, so be sure to *like* it! ;)

That's all for now! BRB loves ;)

Before I say anything, if you haven't seen this video, please watch it first.
And if you have watched this before, chances are you'll watch again and again cos it's just ridiculously hilarious like that.

I couldn't believe my eyes. and ears! SERIOUSLY?? A marriage proposal?? FREAKING FUNNY WEIH! Lighted up my night :D

That poor guys is confused with what he's saying, seriously. I don't get the point of his video at all. And I sincerely, secretly hope that the girl he "proposed" to wouldn't agree :p

Can't believe I just found out about this video when it was uploaded on YouTube like, 2 years ago. Oh my the joy of watching this video is indescribable!

Here are some of the parodies done. Some of em are pretty funny :p

So, the point of my blog post is this.

After watching the video again and again, I'm very inspired (hahah) to do a parody on this. And I'm leaving it to my dear readers to decide if I should.

Should I? Should I not?

Talk to mama!

Casio Exilim ZR20: Captured in the Dark

$

Been packed up with so many exciting stuff lately! And one of the things that have been keeping me occupied is my new baby, the Casio Exilim ZR20! Read my previous blog post about the specs and interesting functions it has! :)

Previously, I shared with you the very fun HDR Art function which turned pictures into life, by adding depth and colors to the photos.

And today, I'mma be sharing about one of the coolest functions to yours truly.

The High Speed Night Shot function!

Many a times when we think about taking photos in the dark, we would opt for the 'flash' mode, as without flash, we wouldn't be able to capture anything at all. And often, the pics would turn out to be extremely bright on the objects (particularly horrible on humans as we would look white & pale), and the background would be pitch black -.-

And especially in places that 'flash' modes are not allowed such as the cinema, we wouldn't even think about the possibility of taking photos!

This, my friends, is my attempt of taking a photo of Mr. Boon & I before The Avengers started, with the normal, auto mode. Which is major epic fail.

And this was shot using the High Speed Night Shot mode! We can see ourselves now oh yeahhh :D

P/S: Please pardon my no-makeup-face. It was a chillax, dress down date night :))

And have you ever tried taking photos of the dark skies, but can't manage to without the flash as it'll turn out blur. And if you use the flash, it will turn out to be super dark (what an irony!) and even the moon can't be seen.

The above was shot using the normal, auto mode.
Can't see anything else besides the moon and wrinkly skies.

With the High Speed Night Shot mode,
I can now see the roof, the trees, as well as the bright moon & super wrinkly skies!

Normal, auto mode.

High Speed Night Shot mode!

Normal, auto mode.

High Speed Night Shot mode!
Everything is now bright and clear. Good for stalking romantic lovers in the park ;)

I've been busy exploring other functions which are camho-friendly too.

*None of the photos below were edited at all. Like, seriously. Which is super amazing.

Such as the 'Soft Focus' mode.

Which gives me the glowing, radient, fair and pure-looking, angelic effect.
Everything a girl would wanna look like in a photo ;) and in real life, of course.

As well as the 'Toy Camera' mode, which gives a lomo-ish effect :)

The 'Sepia' effect,
and many, many others which I shall post up on a separate blog post :)

Before I go, here are some good news for ya!

Mission in Monochrome

$

Took the time off my crazy schedule and spent the last weekend at Raub, Pahang for a mission trip with my church members. 22 of us went into the woods for the purpose of blessing the Orang Asli living there, but in turn, we came back out into the city blessed instead.

Will go into the details in my next post. In the meantime, here are some pictures taken by my new Casio Exilim ZR20 in Monochrome mode. Shall let these beautiful shots speak for themselves :) Non edited!

On the road at 8.30am.

Felt so free going about without makeup and nice nice hair for the whole 3 days.
The thought of not having to think about my physical appearance at all is just liberating :)

One of our drivers/heroes whom I tried to stay awake to accompany, but failed after many attempts :P
Everyone battled with their eyelids and gave in, while these drivers had no choice at all. Hehe

Clear roads.

This was taken when we first reached the SEMOA centre.
Camho attempt failed!

Our 4th or 5th time on a mission trip together. Lost count! But it's always nice to do mission work and serve God and people together as a couple. It's a priceless experience that we share :)

Mode of transportation up the hills of Raub- Hilux!
One of the many things that I missed about going on orang asli mission trips is this :P

It's really a money-can't-buy experience. These hilux-es brought us through the steep hills and crossed the rivers. I now have a new found respect for 4WDs!

Behind the truck ;)
Excited human beans!

Our awesome cameraman (who will also be my wedding photographer)- Vincent Cheng!
Check out his site if you haven't already. His work is awesome :)

Trees in Monochrome.
I've already started missing the fresh smell of the trees and woods. Super fresh air...I felt my lungs crying for joy in those 3 days!

Their little kitchen. Cooking with firewoods the old school, classic style, yo.

We lived in bamboo houses too. Super cooling :)

Sisters.

Wilson. This was how most of our guys sat at the Hilux!

Sticks and stones.

This is one of the villages we put a night at. Look at the view.
One of the houses was still under construction! :)

These dogs were super fierce! They were used by the orang aslis to hunt for wild boars! There were about 8-10 of them in the small village. Talk about phobia of dogs -.-"

We helped them to prepare for dinner too!
For most of us, it was the first time we cut vegs and cracked eggs. *shy* -.-

Their very organized kitchen area.

Their porch, below the houses.

Shall end my post here, as the rest of the photos were taken in another mode.

Was contemplating if I should bring my camera to the mission trip as I was worried I'd spoil it in the journey. But I'm really happy I did! If not, I wouldn't be able to snap so many nice shots :)

Though it was not my first time on a mission trip to the orang asli villages, but each time I visit them, I get a new sense of gratefulness. Gratefulness of what I already have in my life. I may not be rich, but I'm certainly not poor. I may not have a lot, but I do have more than enough.

Above all, I'm reminded that our Father in heaven loves everyone the same. Rich or poor, city or village, complex or simple lives, dark or fair skinned. Anybody. They can live a simple life and be extremely happy. So why can't you and I? If you have access to the Internet to read this post, you certainly lead a good enough life.

Let's be thankful and count our blessings.

More coming up in the next post!
Til' then! ;)

Camhoring Made Easy

WARNING: THIS IS A POST FULL OF MY CAMHO PHOTOS.
Don't say I didn't warn you.
*peace* :)

Ever since I got my new Casio Exilim ZR20, I've got my motivation to take photos and *ahem* camho reignited *shy*

And this has got to be one of the easiest post ever, as I didn't need to edit the photos at all (except certain pictures which I needed to crop a bit which showed too much of my bedroom which made me feel like my privacy is being invaded hehe).

Let me show you just why I didn't have to edit the pictures in terms of the colors and sharpness. One of the best things about this camera is that it has a host of 'Best Shot' features such as Toy Camera, Lomo, Sepia, Soft Focus, and many others aside from the Portrait feature that produce really nice photos!

Portrait

Sorry my camho angles usually make my head look way bigger than my body.
Which is not the case in real life hehe

Soft Focus

The Soft Focus mode is awesome, especially for girls who like to look fair, angelic and pure ;)

And I just wanna rub this in, I'm so happy with my lashes that day :D
They're real okay they're authentic they're mine!

Most people would REALLY pull my lashes to prove that I'm not lying but unfortunately you can't do so reading this, so you just gotta believe wholeheartedly that they are real ;)

Ok let's move on.

This comes straight outta the camera with no editing at all.
Cool or what!

Toy Camera

Toy Camera has got to be one of my FAVORITE features of all!
It gives a lomo-ish effect while shining the light on the necessary parts of your face, such as the forehead, nose and cheeks, highlighting your best features!

It also comes in different color themes.

The shots above were taken using the Blue feature,
while these below are shot with the Green one.

If you love to look mysterious, emo and vampire-ish in photos, this will be your favorite feature.

This is when I stood closer to the light.
If you love to look like a scared kitten in photos, you'll love this too. Hahaha!

And these below were shot using the Red mode of Toy Camera :)

For those who love looking all feminine and blushing in photos.

Sepia

Sepia may be a normal feature that most camera has, but for this one, it has Levels 1 to 3 even for Sepia mode! :)

The above was taken using Sepia: Level 1

While this was taken using Sepia: Level 3!
See the difference?

Light Tone

Light Tone gives you a dreamy, 'Up-in-the-Clouds' feel.
It comes in 3 different color themes: Cyan (which is the one above), Magenta & Yellow.

The above was taken in Magenta.

And this, was taken in Yellow :)

These features were actually meant for other purposes other than camhoring, but then after I tried them out, they actually turn out really nice for camho photos too! Haha ;)

Check out Casio Exilim Malaysia's Facebook Page! They're constantly having promotions and events which give out tons of freebies :)

There are many modes yet to be experimented, and I shall save them for other posts. Before I go, here are some more shots using my favorite Toy Camera ;)

Have a great weekend, and snap away! ;)

WeChat Glitz & Glam Launch Party

Was invited to be the brand ambassador as well as a blogger for the launch of WeChat presented by Apac Venture at Velvet, Zouk KL.

With so many smartphone apps in the market, I really lose touch with the latest trends as I'm usually the outdated one. Not one of the cool gang who's in touch with all the 'in' things :P

But many of my friends who have started using WeChat told me that it was some real deal! It boasts of having all the features that we all love. We'll get into that more soon ;)

Guess who was the first person I bumped into when I arrived!
Vincent Cheng, my upcoming wedding photographer! Go check out his awesome work of art!

Bumped into the pretty, indon-chinese Diana Panda! Yes, that's her real name ;)

I love this pic! :)

Working alongside Felixia Yeap, Yumi Wong & Diana Panda.

The famous Leng Yein was the host of the night. She's hilarious! :)

Assistant General Manager of Tencent International Business Group, Mr. Norman Tam.

Chief Channel Sales and Operations of Avast!, Mr. Arthur Baumann.

Guess who was performing there? :)

Mark Poh & Pooiyan's very own dance crew! Awesome performance :)

There were more than 200 bloggers, celebrities, members of the media and business partners who attended the launch. Managed to catch up with so many familiar faces! :)

With Joshua Ong. We go wayyyy back in the days of youth camps. Hehe

Caught up with the sweethearts Hanie & Nasri too! :)

With Brigette, Belle and Diana.

Bloggers group photo :)

With Leng Yein, Diana & Sam.

Fun with speech bubbles!

Now, wanna know why everyone is so crazy about WeChat, and the reason why it's ranked The Most Downloaded Social Networking app?

Why I personally love WeChat is because it is a combination of so many things! It's a chat app, where it automatically transfers your Facebook contacts into your WeChat app the moment you sync them.

I don't have to add my friends one by one. WeChat does it for me. How awesome! :)

I'm a real emoticons person. I hardly send a text with a smiley or two, cos I feel that a text could seem real cold without the proper use of punctuation, symbols and smileys! ;)

They have got some pre-made emoticons! Super cute!

And we can add in new emoticons anytime we want!

This next function is really cool. You know how we get bored and restless with our phones sometimes? Yes, even with a smartphone! This function called, 'Drift Bottle' enables you to randomly send you text or voice messages into the wide open sea.

Once your message is sent out, people who are looking for random friends to chat with will pick up your message. And if they like you, they'll reply you and there you'd have a new WeChatter! Modern day pen pal ;)

Text message.

Voice message.

When I randomly pick up messages in the sea, I can choose to Reply or Throw Back the message into the sea and let someone pick it up :)

The next function is called 'Shake'. This function enables you to find people who are also shaking their phones at the same time as you! Instead of "asking" for their number, you can just start shaking and you might just get to know someone new ;)

Besides that, there's also this amazing function called the 'Moments' function where it is just like Facebook, where you can update your cover photos, profile photos and upload photos just like Instagram.

There are so many other stuff to explore!

Guess what is the best thing of all, this amazing app is actually FREE! More and more people are now on WeChat, so come join the fun! ;)

In conjunction with WeChat's launch, Avast!, the world's No. 1 security program released its new version 7 anti-virus! Check out more about Avast! at www.avast.com :)

Find out more about WeChat at www.wechatapp.com, and *like* their Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/wechatmalaysia :)

Internship: Week 3

The late nights, short breaths, fast heart beats, headaches. It all seemed like just yesterday that I was still feeling absolutely pekchek, trying to complete the last few assignments of my 3-year degree.

The impending holidays and total freedom from assignments (for the rest of my life!) excited me so much that I found it super difficult to focus on my assignments. It was such a struggle! And it felt like just yesterday.

The day we handed up our FINAL assignment. We went berserk! Went around campus to camho, something we never gotten the time to do for the entire 3 years. All of us looked half dead and zombified, but we couldn't care less because, well, we're halfway GRADUATED!!! :))

Taylor's University has got many, many nice places to camho ;)

I suggested we do a typical "University Campus Life" photoshoot, just like what we always see in the University/College Print Ads and western movies where people chill and bersantai kat rumput (Chill on the grass, you know what I'm sayin?).

It was blazing, scorching HOT! We couldn't even open up our eyes, and we could literally feel our faces swelling up. But we still couldn't care less cos well, we're halfway GRADUATED!!! :D

With eyes closed, the only thing left we can do is to move our mouth. Hence, the smexy pout ;)

And we HAD to take a photo with the famous Taylor's LAKEside lake. Hahaha!

Our last day in campus was 15th June 2012.
And now it's almost one whole month!

It hit me real hard this morning. Taken from my Twitter:

So this is what I've been up to. Interning in one of the PR & Events agencies in the Klang Valley. It's been a real fruitful 2 weeks with the company. Learned lots that I don't get to learn from Uni, and got to see how 'real' PR and events work as opposed to what we're told in classes.

Randomly found this on my desk this afternoon, and decided to test out on some of the features that I haven't got time to explore with!

This is the Blurred Background function captured by my new Casio ZR20

(Top to bottom: Level 1-2-3 Blur Effect)

And this is taken in the 'Pop' mode! Look at how the colors pop! :)

(Top to bottom: Level 1-2-3 Pop Effect)

Absolutely lurve all the features that my Casio ZR20 offers!
Will be exploring more in the coming days :)

So people say that once you leave school, you'll miss being a student because working life sucks.

I know I can't say much just 3 weeks into my internship, which is not really considered as full-time work yet. But apart from my lovely friends in Uni, I really do not miss being a student.

I absolutely DO NOT miss the assignments and exams.
I do not miss the rounds I have to make in search for a decent parking lot.
I do not miss the long walks under the sun just to get to class for 30mins.
I do not miss 8am classes.
I do not miss the slow and inefficient elevator.
I do not miss the traffic jam back home from 4-6pm classes.
I do not miss the overly freezing lecture rooms.

And I'm enjoying the freedom of not being a student, because ultimately, if you do what you love, it doesn't become a job or a drag. If working life sucks, maybe you should reflect if you're really doing what you love? :)

Ok that's about all the grandmother stories from me.

One thing working life does change:

You retire to bed way earlier.
And all you want at the end of the day is just to chill at home. and just SLEEP :)

So, goodnight, human beans :)

Internship in a Nutshell

It's been more than a month since my last update! Unbelievable...

I may not have been updating this space, but I sure have been lingering here every single day. It's been absolutely agonizing to see the same post on top for the past whole month, itching to update and blog about so so so many stuff BUT having no time to do so :(

I'd been interning for the past 8 weeks as part of the requirements of the Communication and Media Management course by UNISA in Taylor's, and I'm so super happy to tell you that I have officially finished BOTH my 3-year degree + 8 weeks internship! :DDDD

Am only left with a final internship report and I'm done with being a student. No more assignments, no more 8am classes, no more daily traffic jam to go to work, no more rush hour pains! :D

Of course, someday I may have to endure the rush hours when I work in the corporate world, but yours truly isn't planning to step into the corporate world as yet. Guess having been freelancing for more than 4 years now, I've somehow been too accustomed to the flexible hours and the liberty of picking up what I choose to pick up, not what I have to. It's been doing me good so far, and I'm absolutely loving it. So for now, bye bye corporate!

Having said that, I did enjoy my short stint as an intern with Streething, the PR & Events agency for brands such as adidas, Sephora, Dr. Martens, and many others. I've known these guys since the adidas NEO blogger competition days, and it's been a pleasure working with such multi-talented peeps!

Learned lots and seen lots. Have always been on the media side as a blogger, and with the brands side as the adidas NEO ambassador, so for the past 8 weeks with an agency, I got to see a whole new world altogether :)

Took the pic above on the first day of internship. You know, even after 3 years studying PR in 2 subjects, I came outta uni still blur and not knowing fully what exactly a PR personnel does. All we learned was just theories and nothing more. But after I had my hands on a few PR tasks given to me, I finally understood the amount of work they have to do (aside from being friend friend with the media)!

So one of the many responsibilities of a PR personnel is to flip through tonnes of magazines, look for advertorials that feature their brands, cut them out, scan the cut-outs into the comp, and compile them into reports. Aside from that, they also gotta measure the size of the ads (for real...with rulers!), and calculate the ad and PR value of the advertorial based on how valuable the media is. The more exposure a magazine/blog has, the more ad value, and hence, more PR value. I found this really interesting! Stuff I NEVER KNEW.

What did I go to school for?

This was taken in Sephora's Fall Press Day, where the media were invited to have a preview and test of the latest products from brands which are exclusively under the Sephora. It was interesting to see the how all the brands reps put in so much effort and attention in details, and making sure their services and products create a good impression towards the media.

And of course, everyone including the intern (hehe) got to have a little girly time going around snacking and testing on the products. I gotta say that working in the beauty line takes loads of self-control. I was practically coveting every single product on display! Shooooo pwetty and yummy. I lurveeee Sephora products! <3 p="p">3>

This was taken in the adidas Blue Friday event, an exclusive adidas sale only for the invited guests, media, adidas staff, etc. Was involved in the preparation process for the event, and man, is inventory tedious and tiring! A big-headed prawn like me only made things worse :P

Makes me appreciate what goes on behind the scenes, and the people who make it all happen. The Streething peeps are real versatile! Heroes behind the scenes :)

This, was a rare camho photo in the span of 8 weeks. Even though I have a closet full of clothes, it was always such a headache of choosing what to put on for work every single day! I gotta wear something presentable yet comfortable, and I struggled to find something of such balance. Hahah! So, this was one of the days that I dressed and looked better. Hmmmmm.

One thing about working at Streething is that they really do make you fat! Or at least they try to :P Trixie came back from vacation and placed all the sinful items on my desk! There had been temptation every day since. But I really love how they're so communal and family-like, and they share almost everything! :)

Well, this was one random, fine day when I got out of the lift and my heart practically stopped! Stood there for a good 5 secs staring at the dogs while my mind tried to figure out if I ended up at the wrong floor!

The reason for the drama is bcos yours truly (as much as she wishes to be) isn't quite an animal lover :( I don't hate them, it's just that I'm not too fond of them mainly cos I'm afraid...animals ranging from dogs to cats, birds and fishes, chicken to ducks. Yes, I'm this lousy.

Thank goodness Jaclyn came out to rescue me! I literally hopped into the office, closed the glass door, and whipped out my phone to take this pic within the safe compound of my office. But seriously, the dogs looked so depressed and lifeless, they didn't even seem like a threat to any human species. Someone must have done something to make them so fearful :( They stayed there for a few days, and been lingering downstairs until now :(

For the first time ever, I was dressed in all Originals! I loveeee adidas Originals. There's just this swag about all their clothes and shoes. Oh, this was the adidas Breathe & Stop event, where 3 international hip hop deejays came to drop hot tunes for the dance floor. I was stationed at the registration booth the entire night, but the hip hop dancer in me really itched to get down and dirty with those beats. Made me miss dancing so much!

And this, was taken one the last day of my internship. Yeap...everything was taken from my Instagram, and that's all there is. 8 photos in 8 weeks is so unlike Careen Tan! But yeah...

Notice that my eye bags got really visible and my face has shrunk? Well, aside from the internship in the day, I'd been busy with Emerge on practically every night. So it's been a roller coaster 8 weeks for me. Wonder where I got the strength from to be out everyday for more than 12 hours. It must have been from above.

It's been a fruitful internship for just a short span of 8 weeks. At least I can say that I'd learnt and seen new stuff, and many of them at that! I had a wonderful boss and fun colleagues, and I'm just happy about the past 8 weeks :)

As for now, I'm just glad to bid goodbye to work, fixed hours, rush hours, traffic jams, and many other Klang Valley woes. I now have a new found respect to all working ppl who suffer 1-2 hours of traffic every single day. You guys must have been numbed by it already...because that's how I felt every single day when I return from Hartamas to USJ. Traffic jams are such joy-robbers.

Took a few pics of the USJ traffic jam that I WILL NOT miss. I took them in Sepia because Sepia makes pictures look emo :")

I used my faithful Casio ZR20 in Sepia Mode, Level 1.

In Sepia Mode, Level 2.

Sepia Mode, Level 3.
Now, this photo looks REAL emo. Painted my exact feelings about the jam. And why I parked so far from the car in front me is so that if any motorcyclist decides to do funny stuff with me, I'll RAM THEM DOWN BACK AND FORTH until the jam subsides :)

Owh, I also got meself a new lappie in the middle of my internship. Not because I have too much cash to spare, but because I had to due to some certain incident that I dowanna talk about anymore.

So far so good! I honestly do not know the model of my lappie because it was my fiancé who dealt with the sales guy on the specs etc etc (I thank God for him!) while I was being picky about only the color and weight of the lappie.

All I know about this new lappie is that 1) It's Acer, 2) It's lightweight, 3) It has in-build battery, hence the super lightweight! :)

Okay, I think it's called Acer Aspire....?
(Edited: The fiancé just confirmed it's Acer Aspire S3 hehe)

Experimented with the 'Miniature' feature on my Casio ZR20, and found it really interesting! There are so many areas for me to focus on! Look closely on the series of photos next and you'll know what I'm talking about :)

Super cool! There are so many features to be explored with, it's just that I don't have the time to. Or should I say, didn't. Cos now I'm slightly freer woohoo! :)

Okay it's been a pretty long post, which goes to show just how much I miss blogging :")
Will be back more often from now.

P/S: This is the first blog post from the new lappie!
P/S/S: I'm soooo touched so many of you are still visiting my blog everyday though I slacked so much :") I love uuu...

BRB!
